The standard model in this industry is that you pay upfront, then hope. If the work comes back weak, you are the one filing a dispute, chasing support tickets and waiting on a refund policy written by the company that took your money.
We inverted it, and the discipline that creates is the point. If a student can walk away without paying, we cannot afford to assign a brief to someone unqualified, pad a word count, or cut a corner and hope it goes unnoticed. Every incentive points the same direction as yours.
It also means we say no more often than most services do. When a brief needs a specialist we do not have, we tell you rather than handing it to whoever is available, because we only get paid if you are happy with the result.
